JA Quebec is a non-profit dedicated to educating young people about entrepreneurship. We are seeking an enthusiastic intern in the Greater Montreal area to join our dynamic team! The internship can be done full-time or part-time with a flexible schedule. You’ll walk away with a unique experience where you’ll get a first-hand glimpse of all the pieces that make up our organization, including administration, facilitating school programs, volunteer training and networking, event organization, marketing and media relations. Note that this experience is not paid.

Job description

As an intern with JA Quebec, you’ll have the opportunity to be actively involved in 3 main mandates, each with different sub-tasks:

1. Understanding non-profit culture and learning about JA Quebec:

• Dive into the culture of non-profit organizations and become an ambassador for JA Quebec
• Learn about our mission, values and impact in the community

2. Promoting school programs:

• Help promote our school programs to Quebec schools
• Help promote our Company Program and Junior Entrepreneur Program at Quebec schools and community centres

3. Reaching out to potential volunteers:

• Understand the importance of networking and develop your skills by reaching out to potential volunteers
• Recruit committed volunteers by introducing them to JA Quebec and our programs and missions

Missions and responsibilities

• Acquire a deep understanding of non-profit culture and JA Quebec
• Understand the importance of networking and develop a dynamic and engaged image
• Reach out to schools to promote JA Quebec programs
• Get involved in searching for volunteers to support our activities
• Provide a detailed report on daily tasks completed
• Participate in in-person meetings at the office at least once a week
• Demonstrate exemplary professionalism and an impeccable work ethic

General tasks

• Complete at least 4 relevant training sessions for your career on LinkedIn Learning relating to your tasks in the internship, and summarize what you’ve learned so you can present it
• Facilitate at least two classes to share your knowledge and inspire students
• Give at least two training sessions to volunteers to strengthen our network of committed volunteers
• Network to recruit volunteers and introduce them to JA Quebec, our programs, and our missions
• Reach out to schools to promote JA Quebec and our initiatives
• Meet with each member of our team to understand the ins and outs of each of their jobs
• Organize a concrete networking activity to build your skills and your professional network
