JA Quebec is proud to announce that Mr. Patrice Jean, President of PMA Insurance, will be our honorary chairman at the Quebec Future Business Leaders Annual Fundraising Gala 2023, which will take place on May 24th at Marché Bonsecours in Montreal. The honorary chairmanship of the event will be jointly shared by PMA Assurances and Intact Insurance, while Desjardins and Fairstone Financial will serve as the event’s presenters.
An accomplished and versatile strategic leader, Patrice Jean is president of PMA Assurances, a firm specializing in property and casualty insurance and financial services. He also sits on the board of directors. Patrice oversees nearly 250 professionals who advise individuals, businesses, groups and associations on a range of services including surety bonds, group insurance, professional liability and cybersecurity risk insurance, financial planning and all types of P&C insurance, helping them find the right services for their needs.
Prior to his appointment as president of PMA Assurances in September 2021, Patrice was the Quebec Vice-President at RSA Canada from 2019 to 2021, overseeing commercial and business lines for the province. From 2015 to 2019, he served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of Lussier Dale Parizeau, a major insurance company in Quebec. While there, he headed a team of 800 employees and led the company through massive growth that included several strategic acquisitions and organic development. Patrice was also the President and CEO of Dale Parizeau Morris Mackenzie from 2011 to 2015, leading a team of 400 professionals in Quebec and Ontario, and served as Vice-President, Commercial Services and Risk Management, for the same firm from 2003 to 2011. Prior to that, he held several Vice-President positions at Optimum Financial Group from 1991 to 2003.
In addition to his successful career path, Patrice has also held the professional title of Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Casualty Actuarial Society. He also received the Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designation from McGill University (2004–2005) and holds a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science from Université Laval (1986–1990). Actively involved in the business community and strongly attached to his profession, Patrice has participated in Quebec’s association of insurance brokerage firms, RCCAQ, and served as Vice-President and member of the board of Coalition pour la promotion des emplois en assurance.
